Short-Term
Men's “Turning Point” Program
Mission
Statement
The Short Term Program is for 90 Program Days.
It's purpose is to create a safe environment where men can learn
tools and strategies to break the cycle of homelessness and
helplessness and understand the personal triggers that cause
relapse into addictions. The Short Term Program does not replace
the Long-term Program, rather it can be used independently or as a
stepping stone to further healing through the long term program.
Goals
To meet the
spiritual, social, emotional and psychological needs of men
entering the Short Term Program
To expose
them to the Gospel of Christ.
To meet the
basic physical and nutritional needs of each man in the Program
To refer
Program Residents to appropriate services outside the Mission
when appropriate.
Ongoing
Activities
Three
nutritious meals provided everyday.
Clothing
provided based on needs and availability of clothing.
Free lodging
for the period of 90 Progam Days and 45 days on successfully
completing the Program.
Primary
Counselor and a Full time Chaplain available for Programs and
meeting the various needs of the Resident.
Weekly
Groups on topics such as Spirituality, 12 Step Spiritual Journey,
Denial, Accepting Responsibility, Relationships, Anger,
Communication, Personal Growth, Handling Loss and handling
control issues. Indivdual session on a weekly basis.
Chapel
Service will be held on Fridays at 11:00AM and Sundays at 6:00PM.
A short devotion time called, “Time Out,” will be
done every day, Monday to Friday at 7:30 AM.
Free Bible
and Christian literature will be provided to the Residents as
needed.
Weekly Bible
Study is conducted by the Chaplain and the Men are scheduled to
attend a Men's Group to address men's issues.
Each person
is encouraged to attend a Church on a weekly basis.
Residents
are taken to Retreats and Camps for spiritual upliftment
Relaxation and Recreation.
The
Residents have access to the Recreation Room, Gym and TV Room for
appropriate exercise and Recreation everyday.
Recreational
activities outdoors are organized. Activities include Bowling,
Softball, etc.
Work Therapy
opportunity through the Distribution Center, Kitchen and Facility
Maintenance.
Meeting with
mature men from the Community who would mentor Program Residents
for positive growth.
