Community Outreach Ministry

Our Mission

  • Through the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed, Community Outreach seeks to comprehensively meet the needs of the poor in a manner that dignifies and strengthens the individual, the family, and the community.

Goals

  • To infuse joy around the common place sharing a meal. This will be accomplished by:

    • Involving local churches in the ministry of presence.

    • Involving people in the arts ministry such as music, drama and dramatic readings.

    • Involving the Community in special events and programs (see below).

  • Training for all volunteers.

Ongoing Activities

  • Community Meal. Nutritious meals are served to those in the community on Monday through Saturday, with a bag meal being provided on Sunday.

  • Life Essentials Program. Provides those in the community with basic needs, such as food, clothing, and necessary, but limited, furniture.

  • Prayer. Prayer is provided on a one-on-one and group basis for any needs.

  • Ten Eyck Ministries. Linking seniors with the younger generation. Weekly delivery of hot, nutritious meals.

  • Summer Ministry. Summer Youth Adventure - a day camp with a special focus on helping children to retain reading and writing skills learned during the previous school year.

  • Christmas Toy Store. Ministry held during December of each year in which parents "shop" free of charge for gifts for their children.

  • Coats for Kids. Program held in October and November of each year, in partnership with local broadcasters and dry cleaners, in which winter coats are provided for needy children and adults in the community.
